The Neighborhood

This was the first post-war housing track to be built in Chico after WWII.  It was nicknamed after the military and civilians’ most popular, neighborhood past-time, playing poker. “Poker Flats”, was developed by a well-known Chico family, (Jim) Fortino.

The house is within one block of Mangrove Avenue.  The nearest cross street is 5th Avenue. It has easy access to highway 99.

It is within blocks of many conveniences: walking distance to bus stops, retail shopping, major banks, gas stations, restaurants, Bidwell Park’s 1-mile, Butte County Public Library, S & S Natural foods grocery store, and the neighborhood elementary school, Hooker Oak.. Enloe Hospital and California University of Chico, California are a short distance from the residence.

This quiet neighborhood is, for the most part, owner occupied with a few rentals.
